FRANCISCO JAVIER URANI

Born in Banfield, Buenos Aires in 1966. He shows, since his early childhood, a definite artistic inclination that leads him to explore different artistic paths, taking part in sculpture, drawing, engraving and painting workshops under the guidance of teachers such as Hayde Amatto and Nora Agrest. During his childhood and adolescence he participates in over twenty. shows and exhibits alongside artists twice his age, standmg out for hes artistic quality.

When the time to choose a career arrived, he decides for architecture and he graduates as an architect in 1990. His interest in art takes him to Rome where he conducts research on architecture and religious art as well as on preservation and restoration of heritage.

Back in Buenos Aires, his multiple interests lead him to become an antiquarian while still working as an architect and as an artist, turning specifically, to sculpture.

He studies and specializes in restoration with Graciela Macia, Graduate in Restoration, blending the knowledge of materials and the specific techniques of this discipline into his works.

He takes part in workshops with different masters, such as Antonio Pujia, with whom he ventures into the bronze casting process.

In 2006 he meets Eduardo Bergara Leumann who selected him to work in his museum. There, he performs Eva Peron' s Dressing room among other interventions. Introduced by Bergara Leumann, he meets several artists from the mythical Di Tella Group,

recognizing Marta Minujin, who leaves a strong fingerprint in the artist.

He is part of the artistic group "Tandem" together with other artists and works in his own studio.

His work, an eclectic Neo-Pop of thrilling music and colour, defies the public with its expressive force, challenging it to free the ideas and prejUdice hidden in every human being.
